The AARC Blueprint Architecture (BPA) defines the key components that are needed for a research collaboration to build an Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (AAI) in a scalable and secure way, so that researchers can access the resources they need based on their role within the collaboration. These building blocks can be mixed and matched according to specific needs, so software architects and technical decision makers can build a customised solution for their research collaboration.

As the AARC project draws to a finish at the end of April, the final version of the BPA will be revealed. This version introduces the 'community-first' approach, which aims to streamline how researchers can access services or resources via their Community AAI using their institutional credentials from the National Identity Federations in eduGAIN, but also from other sources as needed / allowed by the community, such as social media or other community-managed identity providers.

In this webinar:

  • The AARC BPA experts will explain what it is, how it works and how it benefits research collaborations;
  • You will have the opportunity to ask questions.
  • The webinar will be recorded and made permanently available via the IAM Online YouTube channel from AARC, REFEDS, GÉANT, InCommon and Internet2.

    Please register to participate in the live event via this page.
